Intensives
Enrolling in a Life Works Intensive course takes all the commitment, time and resources that any important shift in your life will demand. It is necessary for participants to reserve the time to attend all sessions and to complete preparation, requirements and exercises for full results. For this reason participants must be in the New York area or willing to travel there regularly for the duration of the Course. Both the Guidess Training and MarriageWorks will change your life.
Guidess Training and Leadership Development Program
We are pleased to respond to requests to offer a Training Intensive (formerly called the Training Program) to teach women to use the Life Works information to further their own lives and the lives of those around them. After careful consideration we began a 2-year program November 2, 2002. The next opening in the program is as yet TBA. Feel free to contact the office if you have an interest in being in the next Guiding program.
This program to train women to use our work began in February 1994 when the first group started their program on West 10th Street in our former office. They were followed by two more groups in 1995 and 1996. We believe that all the women would say that their participation in the program resulted in profound changes in their lives. Most used the program as a springboard to launch themselves into the lives they had dreamed of including graduate programs, new careers, new businesses, marriages and children. The Guidesses have all completed this 2-year program as well as a practicum and bi-weekly supervision to work under the auspices of the Life Works Guiding Program.
The Training Intensive will assist you in deepening your knowledge of the philosophy, concepts, and techniques of the Life Works principles and technology. It is designed with these possible outcomes:
- profoundly deepen and quicken your personal work and goals
- clear away what is not authentic for you
- free you to become who you were born to be
- move toward living a more purposeful and meaningful life
- clarify and expand your own career direction
- identify and expand your sense of the unique talents you possess
- clear the path to more complete and clear self-expression enabling you to be comfortable and wise in the presence of most human beings
- uncover your natural leadership abilities
- become a Guidess at Life Works.
This Intensive will enable you to deepen the work for yourself and share it with those around you. Thus you will be able to use it in your workplace and personal life to better understand yourself and others and you will be able, if you choose, to facilitate this work in one-on-one sessions or in groups within Life Works.
If you have an interest in becoming a mastress, teacher and perhaps a Guide of our work, we will be glad to send you the specifics of the Training Intensive and other information which we intend will help you become clear about your participation. The current fee is $5200 plus courses and groups as required during your training.
We invite you to step forward and join the women before you in both assisting others and opening yourself to a fuller, more expressive, contented, purposeful and meaningful life.

Marriage Works is a six-month program built around all the information, support and technology that Life Works, since 1986, has provided women who want a successful, fulfilling partnership with a man. This limited enrollment, fast-track for women who are willing to do what it takes to have the relationship they want. It will take time, committment and strong intention. We know how to support people to make the discoveries, choices and actions that change their lives. We are looking forward to watching each participant flower into a new role — wife.
To that end each participant will be supported to look deeply within herself to
- uncover what she wants a relationship for
- examine what may be in the way of that relationship and then...
- make the shifts required
- align herself with what she is yearing for in a partner or husband
- be coached through her unique path of drawing forward what she wants
- discover how to make the life she wants to happen — each day.
There are many components to Marriage Works:
- 5 Weekend Courses - 2–4 days in length
- 25 "Working with Marilyn" groups weekly each Tuesday from 6pm - 8pm
- 26 Guiding Sessions - weekly individual coaching sessions
- plus Special Subjects - Thursday evenings at 6pm

In addition to participation in the course work above, women will
- complete assignments outside sessions
- keep a log of their discoveries and learning opportunities
- identify places of support in their lives
- organize celebrations of their accomplishments and parties to invite men to.
